oamc-freezing-peppersWe eat a lot of peppers and I use them in a lot of recipes. There are times when I can’t get to the entire package of peppers or when we buy a great deal of farmer’s market peppers and need to do something with them before they go bad.

Frugal Tips for Freezing Peppers

Buy on sale! Peppers are just as great in recipes after you have frozen them so if they are on sale or if you find a great deal at the farmer’s market then stock up on all you can!

OAMC Freezing Peppers

Gather It Up!

Peppers of all colors
cookie sheet
spray oil

Cook It Up!

Slice the peppers into strips. Spray a cookie sheet with oil and lay the strips on the cookie sheet without any of them touching. Place in the freezer until frozen then place all the strips in a freezer bag.

Serve It Up!

Because you froze the pepper strips on the cookie sheet first, each is individually frozen so you only have to grab what you need. Let them thaw then use as needed in your recipes!
