This has been taking up a great deal of time and energy as we work to transfer a great deal of information from paper to hard drive.

As usually happens when things get crazy and hectic, I start a new business. I know! I know! It makes no sense but after a phone call from my mom on Sunday, my husband and I were sharing a booth with her in an antique mall less than 24 hours later.

I love to go to antique malls and flea markets. It is actually the preferred entertainment for both my husband and I together, and when I’m with my mom. We have talked off and on for years about opening a booth in a antique mall and trying our hand at selling. A new antique mall in my hometown allowed us the opportunity to have a booth free for one month. We signed up and between the two households we had enough antiques to fill a decent sized booth. What a better way to work from home than by having a reason to shop for antiques?

I am very excited to start this new venture though it does make me giggle that we are so entrepreneurial that we will even start a new business within 24 hours. I wouldn’t suggest this, make sure that you research a new business venture, but if you have a dream then you should try to accomplish it. This business has cost us virtually nothing to start (we are already a legal business) so we are very excited to see what happens! We made our first sale within minutes of opening so we are hopeful! Wish us luck!

Then use your skills to make some extra cash! This is a great website, not only for recipes, but for those who don’t have time to cook and need someone to cook for them! You can be that someone if you are a good cook.

Clients can choose an item that looks good to them. You can choose to make it for them and they will pay you for your effort.

I hear a lot of people talk about wanting a homecooked meal and just not having the time or the ability to create something they and their family will love. If you are already cooking for your family this is a great way to add to your income with very little effort on your part.

Check out www.cookitfor.us to either have someone cook a meal for you or cook one for someone else!

Airbnb lets you rent out your couch, guest room, or even your entire room to people who would like to visit your. You can also rent out places to stay when you travel, you can find some great deals, perhaps even an entire house to rent for not much more than you would pay for a hotel room!

I’ve been reading Tarot for almost fifteen years but only recently started making money off of it. It was honestly something I did for fun and I didn’t know it was something I could make money off of.

I began with a radio show on BlogTalk. I do the radio show with my mother, follow our Psychic Medium and Tarot Radio Show. The fun and following we have received doing this show gave us the confidence to branch out.

Currently, you can find me in several places for phone or chat readings, www.PMP-Advisors.com, www.energeticcommunications.com, and www.keen.com. Email tarot readings are also available at Energetic Communications.

If tarot readings are something you can do, you may want to look into reading for more than just fun. This is a great work at home job for those of us who work from home or need a part-time income.

If you were a writer at eHow and made it through the mess last year with your articles still up, you just lost today.

eHow has sent out emails stating that they will be deleting all user-generated articles from the WCP Program, unless you were lucky enough to be a part of the buyout program in which they offer you a set amount to purchase the articles you have left on their site.

I was offered $122. I will probably take it for a few reasons. One, I don’t have time to put these articles up somewhere else and promote them and two, they’re not my best work anyway. If I put them up somewhere else I would want to re-write them so I might as well just leave them with eHow, take my money, and forget I was ever a part of Demand Studios. I didn’t care to work for the content mill of Demand, though I enjoyed eHow until last year. I do have to say that $122 is less than I have made so far this year at eHow. I never did make a ton through there but their offer is insulting.

If you lost the link to see your WCP earnings (like I did and had to search for!), here it is:

https://myarticles.ehow.com/SignIn.aspx

What do you think about this new move of eHow’s?

Pay per click often involves clicking on ads on a website or in emails. I’ve done them too, way back before I realized that I could make a lot more money doing almost anything else. I quit doing pay per click sites as a work from home job years ago, all of them except for My Points.

My Points is better than most pay per click sites, mostly due to the fact that they are not just pay per click. Here are the top 3 reasons to use My Points.

My Points offers points for many different avenues, including reading emails, completing surveys, searching the internet, and buying online from many different websites. They are also partnered with sites like BzzAgent, a product review and testing site. This allows you to rack up points much quicker than you would at any other work from home pay per click site.

My Points offers rewards, or gift cards, from many sites, sites that we all actually us, even gift cards to places in your town. I have gotten gift cards to both Applebee’s and Walmart.

My Points is reliable. I have received both of my gift cards, each worth $50.

My Points is the only pay per click site that I will recommend.

This is the one work at home job that I always come back to. Is it going to make me rich? No. Would it pay all of my bills if my husband lost his job? No, close though. Has it helped us get where we are today? A resounding yes.

I have written about ChaCha before, ChaCha Customer Service at Home, but I felt it deserved another article as it has been a lifesaver for us several times.

I mean it when I say this job has been a lifesaver. We have had several emergency vet visits, including one recently, that ChaCha has helped pay for. It has also helped us pay off thousands of dollars of our debt and has given me a fall-back income when another of my income sources dries up or has a slow month.

ChaCha only pays an average of $2 to $5 an hour, dependent on a few factors, I average about $3 an hour. I know some of you are thinking, seriously, $3 an hour? Yes. $3 an hour in which I do not have to spend money on clothes to go to a brick and mortar job, I do not have to spend money on eating out as I’m home, I do not have to spend money on gas, and I can work when I want for as long or as little as I like. I have made almost $500 a month and I have made 32 cents, it just depended on the amount of time I wanted or needed to put in.

This is a great job for stay at home mom’s (and dad’s, or uncles, or grandma’s!) or students who need flexible schedules. I know many moms who work at ChaCha who love it because they can stop working if their baby cries or if the dog pukes on the floor (this has happened to me. More than once!).

This is a legitimate work at home job. ChaCha always pays. You do have to pass a test. If you are serious about working for ChaCha, I suggest you take the test seriously as many people have failed it. Read and watch all videos they tell you to in your training.

Find out for yourself by applying at www.becomeaguide.ChaCha.com. By no means do you have to, but I would appreciate it if you would add my email address, realityrain78@yahoo.com, as your referrer. Just copy and paste it into the referral box. Thank you! Also, if they aren’t hiring at that moment keep checking back as they open and close hiring frequently!

If you have any questions about ChaCha please feel free to email me at the address above.

How many of you work from home and are reading this right now when you should be working? If you are anything like me you are also calling it research! Not that I don’t spend real time researching but I can’t exactly call looking up new bedding or reading about fung shui research for any of my websites. Working from home takes a great deal of discipline as there is no one to tell you to get back to work except for yourself. So read these tips . . . then get back to work!

Set a work at home schedule

This is your schedule so set it however you want, you are working from home and working for yourself so you don’t have to stick to 8 to 5. Perhaps you decide to work from seven to eleven in the morning or you want to work straight through for an hour then get up and do something else for a bit like laundry or a shower. This isn’t always easy, especially if you are a stay at home mom as well as a work at home mom, who has children vying for her attention as well, but stick to it as much as you can. I come and go from a schedule as I’ll stick to it for awhile then I’ll work obscene amounts of hours, burn myself out and put myself back on a schedule. Personally, if I set my mind to working for four or five hours a day then having the rest of the day off, I often get more done than if I worked on and off all day.

Make a list of your work at home duties

Working from home, for many, involves more than just one job. Often we are the boss, the IT tech, customer service, and the accountant all rolled into one. Not to mention if we are working several part time jobs at home! Making a list of what you need to accomplish each week is a big help. I was forgetting about things I needed to do (one blog I write for was forgotten for three months once) so I started keeping a weekly list of items that need to be accomplished. Some weeks I actually schedule when I will take care of each item, and other weeks I just run down the list and bask in the utter enjoyment I get from crossing things off a list.

Seperate work and home as much as you can

For some reason it is very easy for those of us who work from home to remember that we work. We have a job just like everyone else. That means you have to be able to say no. I have had friends ask me to do something for them because I don’t have a “real job”. I have a real job and just because I don’t have to leave my house to do it doesn’t make it any less of a real job. I make money just like they do. Don’t let others make you feel as if what you do isn’t important. If you are under pressure and need to get something done, say no to things you don’t have time to do. Don’t let your husband or wife get away with not helping around the house just because you are at home as well. Now, if you only actually worked an hour and spent the rest of the day surfing the internet you can’t really say anything, and you should probably get up right now and put the dishes from last night in the dishwasher, but if you truly put in ten hours today then ask for help. You worked just as hard, and often harder, than they did.

Take time off when you work at home

When you work from home you can fall into the habit of always working. I know this for a fact as it is Sunday and I’m writing this post! This isn’t good and can cause issues with you and your family, can make you depressed and strung out, and is out and out unhealthy. I have to make myself stop and it isn’t always easy but you have to set aside a weekend, a day, or even a few hours for a movie, to shut down the computer and walk away. You will get more accomplished if you aren’t working around the clock and wearing yourself, and your family, down.

Imagine my relief when I opened a recent email from them explaining that the points I had there were getting ready to expire and I needed to redeem them!

I thought a great deal about what to redeem the rewards for and I finally settled on a $10 Applebee’s gift certificate as I thought it would be a great way for me and the hubby to go out to a nicer dinner for cheap as we could get the 2 for $20 deal that Applebee’s has!

It only took a few weeks for the gift card to come in the mail and it was a nice surprise! I’m just glad I opened that email!
